Egg Harbor is a popular resort town on the western edge of the Door Peninsula,
facing into the bay of Green Bay on Lake Michigan. During the summer, Egg Harbor's
beach areas and nearby golf courses attract thousands for fun and recreation.
Numerous biking trails also criss-cross the backwoods around Egg Harbor, with
cross-country skiing being popular along these same paths in the winter. Limestone
cliffs and outcroppings make up much of the shoreline here, offering scenic
and picturesque views of Lake Michigan amidst a quiet country setting. Orchards
and farms populate the area, with some of the produce finding its way to local
wineries for grape and other fruit wine. Much of Wisconsin's cherry production
also comes from the area around Egg Harbor.
